The Courier-Journal, Fischer seeks 2,500 summer youth jobs

In 2014, the SummerWorks program found jobs for more than 2,100 young people, and Mayor Greg Fischer is challenging companies and organizations to hire at least one youth this summer in hope of finding seasonal work for up to 2,500 youths.

At a recent news conference, Fischer said, that while there are many ways that companies can contribute to the community, "there are few as far reaching as giving a young person a positive start in the workforce."
