Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has set a goal of putting 2,000 people, ages 16 to 21, to work next year under his SummerWorks jobs program.

Fischer dwelled on the importance of finding jobs for the young adults when he spoke Tuesday to several hundred community and business leaders at the 23rd annual YMCA Mayor’s Community Thanksgiving Breakfast at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
