Highlighting free training and manufacturing skills programs in Louisville

Representatives from GE and Yamamoto FB Engineering Inc. joined national and state manufacturing officials today in marking National Manufacturing Day at the new Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center in south Louisville. The day’s events focused attention on the importance of manufacturing to Louisville’s economy and the benefits of the Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center (KMCC) for area employers and jobseekers.

“KMCC can play an extremely important role in helping companies like GE Appliances accelerate learning with its production workforce. The work being done at KMCC to educate and prepare new talent is vital to our journey of becoming great at manufacturing once again in this country,” said Michael Chanatry, GE Appliances, general manager of manufacturing. “GE fully intends to seek out KMCC-trained candidates as we continue to hire new manufacturing talent
