While the Louisville area unemployment rate remains around eight percent, some manufacturing jobs go begging. But there is a program in Louisville designed to train workers to get such jobs.

Detrick Trotter is one of about a dozen people enrolled in a four-week class to become a certified production technician at the Kentucky Career Center at the Airport Industrial Center in South Louisville. He hopes to land a manufacturing job after completing his training.
