The state has overhauled its workforce development system, creating the Kentucky Career Center that is intended to provide new opportunities for Kentucky’s businesses and workers.

Gov. Steve Beshear unveiled the career center program at a news conference in Shelbyville Thursday, saying it signifies the importance of moving away from the perception of the “unemployment office” to a focus on career services for both job seekers and job providers.
