U.S. Department of Education targets the end of student loan abuse.

The rate at which students are repaying federal student loans varies drastically at local vocational colleges, the U.S. Department of Education reported Tuesday as it prepares to enforce new regulations aimed at combating excessive debt.

At Sullivan University, for example, the loan repayment rate varies from 16 percent for students earning an associate’s degree in computer installation and repair to up to 67 percent for an associate’s degree in its better-known culinary arts programs.
