Courier-Journal, KY and IN get money to help unemployed find jobs

U.S. Department of Labor funds will help unemployment insurance recipients

Kentucky will receive $299,386 and Indiana will get $826,000 in grants from the U.S. Department of Labor to give one-on-one attention to people claiming unemployment insurance to help them get re-employed.

According to the Kentucky Office of Employment & Training, the funds will be used to conduct in-person assessments of individuals receiving benefits at the state’s One-Stop Career Centers.
