Ford announced on Tuesday, Dec. 1, they will be investing $1.3 billion at the Kentucky Truck Plant on Chamberlain Lane in Louisville, supplying 2,000 jobs to the plant. The investment will help support the launch of the aluminum-body 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty truck, which is set to launch in the fall of 2016.

The Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP), which currently employs 4,420 hourly and 227 salary employees, will open a new body shop, facility upgrades and some retooling to build the new F-Series truck. Ford officials said construction has already started at the plant.
