President Barack Obama is rolling out a new initiative to encourage training to fill thousands of open, high-paying information technology jobs and his office wants communities to follow programs initiated in Louisville and a handful of other cities.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer joined White House officials on a Monday conference call to preview Obama announcing the TechHire initiative during his speech at the National League of Cities Annual Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C.
